
Cindy Fernald
Cindy Fernald is a native of Beckley. She graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School, Vanderbilt University and the West Virginia University College of Law. She worked as a plaintiffs’ litigation attorney in Charleston, West Virginia until John and she had twin babies, Lauren and John. Then Cindy helped her husband open their pediatrics office, Rainbow Pediatrics.
Cindy serves as the St. Francis Middle School cheer coach, Girl Scout Cadette Leader, and is over the St. Francis Art Club. She is a member of Glade Community Church. She is an avid animal lover and is involved in many animal rescue organizations.
In addition to twin children, Cindy and John have three beloved dogs, Gracie, Teddy and Olaf.

Dr. John Fernald
Dr. John Fernald is a native of North Carolina. After graduating from North Carolina State University and East Carolina University Medical School, he served seven years in the US Army. He deployed multiple times including serving as a Battalion Surgeon in Iraq with the 1st Cavalry Division. After leaving the Army, John settled in Roanoke, Virginia where he met his wife Cindy. John then moved to Beckley where he has been a pediatrician for 15 years and is the owner of Rainbow Pediatrics. John & Cindy have twins, Lauren and John.
John serves as a clinical professor of Pediatrics through WVU and teaches medical students and pediatric residents. He is a past president of the Raleigh County Medical Society and is actively involved in the WV Pediatric Society. John is the St. Francis Middle School assistant basketball coach and Scoutmaster of Boy Scout Troop 3 in Beckley. He is a member of Glade Community Church. John is involved in multiple animal rescue organizations along with his wife Cindy.
